I am modifying my strategy for launching Wise Talkers, which mainly means just being more reasonable about what I can accomplish in a short amount of time.
The original plan was to publish ever week right out of the gate. But, sobered up by the experience of actually producing a couple of episodes, I realize the old adage applies: Walk before you run!
And it’s not only the effort required to produce individual episodes that leads me to change the launch timetable….
There is a lot of set-up work that still needs to be done. Perhaps the biggest project is creating social media sites and producing interesting content for them. That’s an ongoing effort, of course. But, as with producing episodes, there’s a significant amount of ground work to do to lay the foundation.
Once I’ve got five or six full episodes published – in about two months I’m thinking – I will start actively promoting. In the meantime, I will produce new episodes as I can, which could be anywhere from a few days apart to three or four weeks apart.
Next up will be my first new interview, conducted remotely, with Jeff Spies, a good friend and a recognized expert and passionate advocate for renewable energy and solar power. Jeff has an interesting life story as well, and I think you’ll enjoy our conversation. It will be published mid-March.
And I’ll soon publish another of my older ‘radio days‘ interviews, with the late, great Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, the famed pioneer of the hospice movement and death-and-dying studies. As with the Gary Snyder episode, I am re-purposing the Kübler-Ross interview because it remains relevant today.
I will update the site with the latest information on a regular basis, of course – and always here first, on this Backstage blog.
And if you are a subscriber, you will receive an email notification whenever a new episode drops.
